Ann's House Of Nuts Closing In September?

Ann's House of Nuts has been telling people that it will close its retail store in September, according to multiple comments on the blog and Facebook page.

The Columbia store sells nuts, dried fruits, candy and more.  It would be a bummer to see it close.  Anyone know official news?

The info that I heard was that Ann's was bought by another company who has headquarters in another state. I don't know if this is true or not though...

I heard this from sales staff there-- the last day is September 18, if I recall correctly. They said something about moving headquarters to Minnesota.

Yes, I asked a cashier the last time I was there. Relocating to Minnesota at the request of a new owner. I will very much miss it and plan to stop in a few more times. I expect clearance type sales.

Yes, the company was purchased and combined with another snack food company, and now this new entity is headed to Minneapolis.

Sorry for the employees, but I have to say that I really prefer Nuts.com.

I'm honestly not surprised that they are closing. Their hours are terrible and not very convenient for anyone who works outside of Columbia. I shop Trader Joe's and Wegmans for nuts.

Their hours were not great but they weren't meant to be a giant store. They just sold surplus material. You can't go to Trader Joes or Wegmans and get a 3lb bag of peanuts for $1.

Their last day is Friday Sept. 14th.

The woman who owned it here was Seventh Day Adventist which is why the hours were not very flexible. I went in last week and they still had the great deal on peanuts and small snack bags of nuts, but much of the stuff I normally get there was gone - and they had tons of chocolate granola? Like 25lb bags. I had planned to go close to closing, but seeing what little they still had, probably won't.

Perrik - thanks for the article!
